LINGID

Dewey Lake and Valentine National Wildlife Refuge is located in Cherry County Nebraska, sixteen miles south of Valentine. Boating is allowed in this lake, but is restricted to nonpowered craft or craft powered with electric motors.

The lake has 550 surface acres of water. All the Valentine Refuge lakes are subject to summer aquatic weed growth. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as containing Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Pike and Yellow Perch. Minnows are prohibited; dead smelt are allowed. Possession of fish not taken from refuge waters is unlawful.

Facilities at Valentine National Wildlife refuge are primitive, but facilities are available nearby at Merrit Reservoir.
