East Sutherland Lake and East Sutherland WMA are located southwest of Hershey, in Lincoln County, Nebraska. The lake itself is approximately 27 acres, with primitive facilities.
The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as containing good fishable populations of Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, and Perch. The lake was very shallow in some areas near the shoreline, which made it difficult to fish in some areas. Several small bass and midsized bluegill were taken on nightcrawlers and spinners.
The lake is somewhat difficult to find for someone unfamiliar with the area. Although it lies on the north side of the Interstate, it must be accessed from the south by an overpass. The roads to the overpass are gravel, and in poor condition.
