LINGID

Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area is located approximately two miles east of Fremont, in Dodge County, Nebraska. There are 20 lakes with a combined water surface of 280 acres. The lakes are a very popular recreation spot in the summer, and seem to still maintain a good fishing population.

The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as having good fishable populations of Catfish, Carp, Northern Pike, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Rock Bass, Redear Sunfish, and Green Sunfish. Fishing populations vary between the lakes, and although these lakes will never provide the huge individual fish that some western lakes may, there always seems to be plenty of small bass and midsized sunfish to catch.

Facilities at Fremont Lakes include primitive and modern camping, dump stations, showers, fresh water, concessions, picnic facilities, modern restrooms, and boat ramps. Only a few lakes allow powered boating, and special rules may be enforced on boating and other activities.
