Hedgefield State Wildlife Management Area is located 3 miles west of Panama, in Lancaster County, Nebraska. The lake is approximately 44 acres, and boating is limited to electric/non-powered boats only.
The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists Hedgefield as having good fishable populations of Bluegill, Bullhead, Channel Catfish, and Largemouth Bass. Bullhead and Channel Catfish are plentiful throughout this lake and may be taken on nightcrawlers and doughballs.
Facilities at Hedgefield are very primitive, with only primitive camping allowed. Although boating is allowed, there is no easy access for most craft on this lake.
