Hershey Lake and Hershey SWMA are located south of Hershey, in Lincoln County, Nebraska. The lake itself is approximately 52 acres and is excellent fishing. The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as containing good fishable populations of Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Perch, Northern Pike, and Walleye. We caught and released several large perch from the shore on our visit. The perch were very susceptible to nightcrawlers and small jigs. Facilities at Hershey Lake and Hershey SWMA are primitive. We were unable to launch our boat because of deep mud, and the unimproved nature of the boat ramp.
