Kirkman's Cove Lake and Recreation Area is located in Richardson County, approximately 2 miles northwest of Humboldt Nebraska. The lake is part of the Nemaha Natural Resource District. The lake has 160 surface acres of water, with all boats allowed. The lake was recently renovated in 1995. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as containing Bluegill, Channel Catfish and Largemouth Bass. Fishing is fair at the lake, but experiences some turbidity in the water. Facilities at Kirkman's cove are excellent, and is very well maintained. Facilities include boating access, restrooms, picnic facilities.
