Merganser Lake is located approximately 1 mile northwest of Kramer, in Lancaster County, Nebraska. The lake is 41 acres, with boats limited to a 5 mile per hour no-wake rule. Facilities at Merganser are Extremely primitive, and the entrance unmarked. The road going to the lake is unimproved with very bad ruts, and the boat dock is a primitive gravel ramp. To spite this we found Merganser good fishing and had an enjoyable visit.
The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as containing good fishable populations of Bluegill, Bullhead, Channel Catfish, and Largemouth Bass.
