Lake North is located in Platte County, three miles north of Columbus.
The lake has approximately 200 surface acres of water and sits adjacent to Lake Babcock. All boating is allowed on this lake, and is frequented by a large group of personal watercraft users. Boaters should take note that this lake can be particularly rough for its size in bad weather, with 3 to four foot white caps being common.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission lists this lake as containing Carp, Channel Catfish, Crappie, Drum and Walleye. Many fishermen prefer the south shore of the lake due to the regularly strong southerly winds.
Facilities at Lake North include camping, restrooms, and primitive boating access. More facilities can be found nearby at Lake Babcock.
