Redtail Lake State Wildlife Management Area is located in Butler County, one mile east of Dwight Nebraska. The lake area has walk in access only, and is about a ¾ mile hike to the lake.
The lake has 17 surface acres of water. The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists Redtail Lake as containing Bluegill, Crappie, Channel Catfish, and Largemouth Bass. There also have been a great deal of striped bass taken out of this lake in recent years. We caught several near the dam on nightcrawler rigs and small plastic jigs.
There are no facilities available at the Redtail Lake State Wildlife Management Area, and parking somewhat limited also.
