Rockford Reservoir is located approximately 9 miles southeast of Beatrice, in Gage County, Nebraska. The lake is approximately 150 acres, and has very good fish habitat. The Fishing is excellent for a lake of its size. All boats are allowed on this lake, but there is a 5 mile per hour no-wake rule. The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as having good fishable populations of Bluegill, Bullhead, Carp, Channel and Flathead Catfish, Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Saugeye and Walleye. The lake is good fishing all year around produces excellent sized Flathead Catfish consistently. Facilities at Rockford include primitive camping, boat ramps, parking, and a swimming beach.
