Swanson Reservoir is located 2 miles west of Trenton, Nebraska, in Hitchcock County. The lake is approximately 4,794 surface acres fed by the Republican River. The lake has excellent facilities and good fishing.
The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists the lake as having good fishable populations of Channel Catfish, Crappie, Drum, Walleye, and White Bass. Drum and White Bass were plentifully caught throughout the lake on minnows and suspended nightcrawlers.
The facilities at Swanson Reservoir include primitive and modern camping, fresh water, restrooms, parking, swimming, and picnic facilities.
