  Willow Lake State Wildlife Management Area is located in Cherry County, 23 and one-half miles south of Valentine. It is in the Valentine National Wildlife Refuge. The road to Willow Lake is particularly bad, and can be considered impassible in bad weather.

  The lake has approximately 354 surface acres of water. The Nebraska State Game and Parks Commission lists Willow Lake as containing Carp, Pike and Yellow Perch.

  Facilities at the Valentine National Wildlife Refuge are limited to day use only. Facilities are available at nearby Merrit reservoir.
