LINGID

Lake Manawa is located approximately 1 mile South of Council Bluffs, Iowa. The lake itself is 772 acres, and all boating is allowed on this lake. Anglers should note that this lake is in close proximity to the Omaha Metro area and is used very heavily by water skiing and Jet skiing.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources lists this lake as having good fishable populations of Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Channel Catfish, and Yellow Bass. We caught several Channel catfish off the weedbeds on the south side of the lake with bloodbait, and also took several bluegill on jigs.

Facilities at Lake Manawa include primitive camping, boat ramps, picnic facilities, and restrooms.
