West Swan Lake is located 1½ miles south and 2 miles east of Gruver, in Emmet County, Iowa. The Iowa Department of Natural resources lists the lake as being a natural lake, covering 1038 surface acres of water.
Facilities at West Swan Lake include; primitive campgrounds, picnic areas and public restrooms. Boating is allowed on the lake, with no restriction on motor size. Boat ramps at the lake are gravel.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources lists Bullhead and Yellow Perch as the major species of fish available in the West Swan Lake. Also listed as available, but not as common are Northern Pike.
